I spent a lovely Easter weekend in a hotel in downtown Dakar. The rooms were spacious and clean with good air conditioning and comfortable beds. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet which offered a great selection of fresh fruit and pastries. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the city, as it was within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. I also appreciated the free shuttle service to the airport.

That the street outside the hotel was quite noisy, which made it difficult to sleep at times. the staff were not always very helpful and didn't seem particularly interested in helping us plan our sightseeing itinerary.

Some noise from stairs, hallway, and streets can be bothersome. Older rooms should be avoided if possible, as they are not as comfortable.
